Lush Mothers...!

Day...mothers day of course!
It is two weeks away and it's time to get your gifts and cards at the ready, of course again your local Lush store is available to save your neck with an amazing range of limited edition products, and some absolutely amazing gift sets.

An amazing array of bubble bars, bath bombs, and sweet smelling treats are currently filling stores all over the country, and while they are part of the mothers day range, they are so lovely you will want most of the items for yourself!
I have got my macaroni at the ready...

Yummy Mummy names two of the products in this current range, one a body conditioner, designed to use on wet skin to soften and sweeten with an amazing scent, that smells of strawberries and cream in the most subtle but spring worthy way, the other an amazing shower gel to compliment.
Jam packed full of real strawberry juice, almond oil, and marumaru butter which leaves your skin feeling absolutely amazing, and leaves your skin smelling strawberry sweet for hours this Yummy Mummy conditioner is top of my list.
I love the body conditioners, both in pots and in their solid bars, for using in the shower to leave my skin feeling ultra soft without needing to stand shivering in the cold waiting for the body lotion to sink in before I can throw on the many layers winter requires.

This Yummy Mummy is a brand new shower gel, a lovely pastel lilac colour with a beautiful sweet smell, with tonka absolute and geranium oils as a base, and brazilian orange oil for a bit of zest.
It also contains carrageenan extract to moisturise and thicken.....use it as a shampoo...!
I will need to buy a big bottle of this I think, although my huge bottle of Rose Jam is still going strong from christmas.

These handmade mini nuns are so cute, all of which are completely unique (find the best face you can, send me photos!) with a slight element of Finn from Adventure Time (I'm not the only one to think so!) this is a generously sized Mother Superior bubble bar scented with mimosa absolute, orange blossom absolute, jasmine and sicilian lemon oils, for a very uplifting scent.
It may smell rather familiar to fellow lush addicts, compare it with Rub, Rub, Rub!

I'm so good at drawing.
This is the most darling little bubble bar I ever have seen.
If you ever watched any of my vlogs (revive...or no?) you may remember my first featured this Rose bubble bar a year ago!
This is a creamy rose and lemon scented bubble bar with the added element of fair trade organic cocoa butter to soften your skin, working as a bubble bar and bath melt in one adorable little shimmering rose.

This is my current favourite, violet is one of my favourite scents ever, so this huge amazing bubble bar full of violet leaf absolute, jasmine absolute, rosewood oils and ylang ylang oils for frothy bubbles and skin softening benefits.
Ultraviolet also turns the water varying shades of purple, blues and green depending on which section you use (you can get about 4/ 5 baths out of one of these bars!) with shimmer which swims around in the water creating patterns and hypnotising you into relaxing completely.

There are two bath bombs in this collection, but sadly I couldn't grab a Secret Garden before they ran out here!
But this is a rather exciting bath bomb, full of rose oils, rosewood oils, and soya milk powder to soften the skin, but it does so much more..!
Inside this bath bomb is real rose petals, which shoot out of the bath bomb as it melts away in the water, even changing colour as it goes.
As I loved So White so much this Rose Bombshell is an adequate replacement to stock up on while I await their return.

Of course these products are also slipped into their three gift boxes for mothers day, all of which are so very nice too, my personal favourite is the beautiful scarf wrapped hanging basket, loaded with amazing products, called Flowers for Mum.
The bonus of this gift box is that the labels on them are unique compared the all the other gift sets, as they contain real flower seeds to plant in the hanging basket for a year round gift that keeps on giving.
Get yourselves to a store or their website to nab some bits for yourself...ahem...I mean your mum.
Now I'm all prepared, I just hope my mum likes the card I made!

My Little Frenchie Box...

Yes at last, I'm back!
Thank you guys for patiently waiting while I waded through an amazing amount of life stuff, I was becoming a little overwhelmed with the many many many things I have been juggling lately, from my lovely supportive day job, to running a show on Valentines day, planning our wedding and general every day life...!
I shall try to get back into the swing of blogging as best I can despite the growing to-do list, and still have much I want to share with you all.

I'm going to slip back in using one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes, My Little Box, and their latest adorable instalment, My Little Frenchie box.
Plus as the last blog I actually wrote was reviewing one it makes sense in a kinda roundabout type way.
A sea of red, white and blue, they have teamed up with Inés De La Fressange, the french model turned fashion designer and perfumer, for all of the chicness of France in one box.

I love the attention to detail each box brings, from the statements stickered inside the box lid, this months really made me smile, down to the matching ribbon inside the box which holds its inspirational cards and My Little World mini magazine.

This months box wasn't as jam pack full as they usually have been, but I'm a great believer in quality not quantity every time.
Every item was beautifully packaged inside, plus I seem to now collect these little drawstring bags which hold the beauty products in every box, they are really very useful!
There was also a postcard for their latest venture, My Little App, a blast of colourful quirky ideas, tips, and even sales low downs sent directly to your phone.
It's a lovely app, and always makes me smile from it's inspirational quotes, free exclusive app downloads, to it's quizzes and DIY tutorials.

The cutest thing I have ever seen, a little jar filled with tiny tiny scrolls all sealed shut with itsy bitsy gold rings, each scroll containing a different message to dip into whenever you want a little pick me up.
The colours are of course french flag colours, and the scrolls range from tips, to quotes, and little messages especially for you (and well....whoever else bought a box!) which is such a unique thing I cannot say I have ever seen before, but may have to pinch the idea and rings to write lovely things to Edd to read whenever he feels like he wants a smile.
How many of you will pinch this idea too?!?

The most useful thing I could have expected in this box, mainly down to it's amazing timing!
I just got a new iPhone 5s and didn't have a case to put it into, this fits in perfectly plus the really useful pocket for my headphones that have helped me keep them tangle free and ready in position to be used.
I was planning to buy a clear case from apple for it, but I think I would miss that handy pocket if I did.
It's a little on the larger size for my phone, but I guess as it needed to be made to fit all shapes and sizes of phones I cannot fault it.
There are two colours, and luckily I got a red one, my favourite colour!

There are always make up and skin care items in every months box, which vary from various french pharmacy brands, London based brands, to world wide brands.
There is also an item from their own in house range, My Little Beauty, which is actually rather good and also available from their online store (sadly not currently shipping to the UK).
Their own brand instalment this month was a peach tinted primer, which actually sinks in very quickly and rather nicely, I shall be giving it a weeks run, follow progress on my Instagram!
I'm not a huge fan of L'Oreal, tho they now claim to no longer test on animals (really tho...?!) I'm still not too keen to give them my money.
I gave this a bash tho I usually have to fill in my eyebrows due to a lack of any, and it was only a transparent brow gel, but it does gain amazing reviews.
It did keep the brows nice and neat, but I need more to be convinced, if it help me get some actual eyebrow growth I'd be very happy but so far I just seem to get barely there neater brows.
Blotting paper was one of those things I loved in my childhood, it being the only item my mum didn't usually miss in her make up haul (sorry ma!) and helped me feel somewhat grown up (I was like, 9...) but now the idea seems a little gross and outdated to me.
Just get a good primer....!

The By Terry khôl however made my friend squeak when she saw it, what with them costing €25 each, it seems a pretty good haul as the whole box cost less!
It has gold shimmer mixed in too for a more eye catching look, and stayed in place rather well for a kohl liner, I don't usually wear kohl as I get make up everywhere but this was a little impressive.
I of course gave it to my friend however.
I'm just that nice.

My Little Energy Box....

With January comes the inevitable diet articles in every magazine, even the TV times, gym clothing taking over all the stores despite the freezing temperatures outside, and everyone jumping on the healthy bandwagon.
If like me you're one of those people who refuses to start working out when still wearing so many layers, and also because why would you even go outside unless you really had to when indoors is so warm and full of blankets?!
My Little Box have joined the health bandwagon with this months instalment of the aptly named My Little (lack of) Energy Box.

Full of inspiring postcards with happy looking joggers (hahaha!) tho I do agree with the sentiments written on the note as I hope to make 2015 a fantastic year.
I admit I was slightly disappointed that this months was a fitness instalment as every box I've had before have been so quirky and interesting, this was a little more boring than I had come to expect from them.

As usual the My Little World magazine is there for plenty of tips, tutorials, recipes, and so much more.
These magazines are always full of beautifully shot photographs that would make your instagram account jealous, even just for a flick through it is very inspiring.
I like that these magazines feature interviews with people that you may have not heard of but have very interesting stories and lives, we should feature people like this more rather than pseudo celebrities.

Amazingly they even somehow fit a whole gym bag into this box, I don't know how they manage to fit such big things into a usual sized beauty box that I'm so used to being half empty when I open them.
It's a handy storage bag too for bits a pieces that may not have a home, so don't fret, you won't have to actually go to the gym.

To start off your year with a little bit of planning, there is also a calendar mixed with illustrations from their in house illustrator, Kanako, with inspirational messages and even a soduku chart mixed in there.
As July for me is quite a special month (yes, those dates are all true and correct!) I of course filled these dates in first.
With the advent of iPhones, iPads, smart whatever else's, calendars and diaries seems to be a thing we all buy with good intent at the beginning of each year only to not really use, there are so many things like this, we all do it so here's a list of such items...!
  • Yearly diaries, this year mine is a lovely Cath Kidston diary I have yet to put anything in, despite it being the 21st of Janurary.
  • Trainers, yes jogging could totally be something we do, tho we never really do now do we?!
  • Calendars that may have kittens, puppies, or Ryan Gosling on them that we hang up to note dates, but realise however that while it is now June, we haven't turned the pages yet away from March.
  • Smoothie makers, usually with piles of fruit and some kale, cos you can't really taste it when mixed in with all that fruit, and that one week you start every day with a smoothie you feel really great. So how come we inevitably stop?
  • Slow cookers, similar deal to above. Only with vegetables that we will of course chop up and throw in before we head off to work, coming home to a ready healthy meal, but it's still just too much effort isn't it?

Every box contains a handy little drawstring bag full of make up and other beauty products, including one item from their own in house range, My Little Beauty.
This months included a refreshing face mist packed with vitamin C and green tea.
Talika is a long standing brand in France, launched by Dr Danielle Roches in 1948 to help heal war victims of their wounds and burns, it not only healed their wounds but encouraged the regrowth of their eyelashes (!).
Since then their range of lash care, skin care, and even serums to promote growth in eyelashes and eyebrows have been popular all over the world.
I shall definitely be using this for a while as I could really do with a miracle on my face right now!

The last item was from well known London based brand, Nails Inc.
Usually I only ever get Nails Inc. products whenever I buy it attached to Glamour magazine, which seems to fairly often have them as their free gift.
I usually don't read the magazine much or at all, but £2 for a nail polish that usually retails at £10? Yes please.
It does leave you limited for the colours tho, but I was so pleased to get this blue based red that is my usual perfect red nail colour of choice.

Edd asked if it was really worth it just for the nail polish (but maybe the miracle cream too, I shall report back) but every box I've had from this company before has been so lovely that I have hopes it will be back to it's usual girly francophile pleasing self for next months instalment.
